    Mosquito cont.

    in On the Bench

The show is over,. We all can take a breath and continue on with long forgotten projects and maybe start something fresh. I was working on the Trumpeter SBD 3 Dauntless for the show but some things got in the way and other issues that kept it from being an entry. Sitting at my desk I looked at some of the lingering projects and all of a sudden as my eyes glanced over to where the Mossie was hanging I kept on hearing Pete's voice in my head "When are you going to continue with the Mosquito?".

I have to admit it has been hanging around for a while. I took it down an d started the masking for the scheme I had chosen. Black under belly with the medium sea gray and dark green uppers. P3-C of 692 squadron 1944.

I did manage to get the gray laid down before Gibson, one of my modeling buddies, decided to make a nest in one of the abandoned kit boxes.

I mad a couple of paper masks for the dark green but my dark green just wasn't quite green enough. I covered it and and going to find something more suitable tomorrow. I may just go to my silly putty masking material. Maybe I can get better results.

    Thanks for looking in.

    Cheers

I think I found a more suitable green. I am just going to have to get Vallejo's RAF colors and put them up for any other RAF build.

Next step is decals then I'll have it at the next meeting.
